IHCenter is pleased to be a listed and active participant with:
A Choral Quilt of Hope
The mission of A Choral Quilt of Hope is to
create and disseminate a choral composition of the UNDHR (The
United Nations Declaration of Human Rights).
Working from Suntree’s adaptation of the Declaration, writer Susan
Suntree and composer Adrienne Albert are creating two choral
compositions:
The Community Song version for choral groups with 4 to 25 members;
The Celebration Song composed for large, professional choruses.
The Community Song will be posted on a website along with all the
materials necessary to present a performance of the UNDHR composition
including
program notes, the complete text of the Document, the UNDHR’s history
with photographs of its authors and a homage to Eleanor Roosevelt who
conceived of the document and shepherded it through its ratification on
10 December
1948. Choral groups will register to download the composition and
supporting
materials, to donate to keep the project going, and to have their group
highlighted
on a map of the US and of the world that will track performances. We
will
encourage translations so the composition will be sung around the world.
