American Songwriters is a planned 6-part educational television project, recently narrated by Larry King with permission from CNN, which will culminate in a PBS TV Series, entitled AMERICA SINGS!  Each hour episode pays musical tribute to several major historical American Songwriters.  Guest Celebrities from three musical generations - the 1950's, 1970's and 1990's - will perform individual renditions of these songwriters’ classic tunes.
 
Over 150 years of Songwriting (from Stephen Foster in the 1850's to Stephen Sondheim on present-day Broadway) are represented by our Touring Concert Series in performances of Song Programs drawn largely from this planned PBS TV Series, songs which bind us together in times of national crisis, and inspire  new generations of young songwriters to bond beautiful melodies with meaningful lyrics in the American tradition.
