The OpEdNews project aims to facilitate the following goals:

1. environmental protection;
2. peace/anti-war activites;
3. exposing and cleaning up government corruption;
4. identifying constitutional and human rights abuses and protecting those rights;
5. equal rights for minorities, women, etc.;
6. coproate abuses or power, of humans and the democratic process;
7. health issues, and;
8. worker safety.

The nonprofit goals of OpEdNews are to enable education, interconnection, communications, and to empower activism by organizations and individuals.  Many organizations do not have the resources to build websites, conduct media outreach, or create conline communities.  OpEdNews enables and empowers these functions and more.
